You like chatting with all kinds of folks. Last, but not least, you’re in this role because you were looking for a challenge within a company full of dedicated staff who do awesome things.
If the above sounds like it’s up your alley, read on to the standard stuff below.
The Deli Manager is responsible for successful day-to-day operations of the Deli department. The management of inventory/product and attention to maintaining a local competitive position are crucial. Development and training of staff is essential, as is a keen ability to manage, communicate and motivate others.
This position requires focus on customer service as top priority. Customer requests/complaints are to be addressed quickly and effectively — making it right is what counts. Previous experience with sales and strategic thinking is key. The Deli Manager must always be seeking ways to increase sales, bring in ethical, quality products, and find new ways to market goods. Attaining margin and sales goals for the department is also key. The Deli Manager must be able to think day-to-day and organically into the future, and serve as an advocate of our co-op principles. Previous deli experience is required. In addition, the Deli Manager will be an integral part of the leadership team of the store and will be required to act as the Manager on Duty if the store manager is not present.
This is a full-time, salaried position, based on a five-day work week that includes one weekend day. We have an excellent benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick time, retirement plan and employee discount.
