Weavers Way is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our team as Meat & Seafood Manager in our new store in Ambler, set to open in late August. If you love meat (eat it, cook it, talk about it) then this could be the right fit for you. This position is full time, includes at least one weekend day/evening, and hours can vary between morning and night shifts.
As manager of the whole department, you’re integral to the entire operation. You know about different cuts of meat, have good relationships with vendors, and have an eye for what the next big seller will be. You have an eye always geared towards sustainability and ethically sourcing our meat and seafood. Customers know your name because you have gone above and beyond to offer excellent customer service. Staff can depend on you to manage, engage, and listen. You like chatting with all kinds of folks. The Meat & Seafood Manager is responsible for successful day-to-day operations of the Meat/Seafood department. The management of inventory/product and attention to maintaining a local competitive position are crucial. Development and training of staff is essential, as is a keen ability to manage, communicate and motivate others. This is a full-service meat case.
This position requires focus on customer service as top priority. Customer requests/complaints are to be addressed quickly and effectively — making it right is what counts. Previous experience with sales and strategic thinking is a must. The Meat & Seafood Manager must always be seeking new ways to increase sales, bring in ethical, quality products, and market goods. Attaining margin and sales goals for the department is key. They must be able to think day-to-day and organically into the future, and serve as an advocate of our co-op principles. Previous meat/seafood experience is required. In addition, the Meat & Seafood Manager will be an integral part of the leadership team of the store, and will be required to act as the Manager on Duty if the store manager is not present.
This is a full-time, salaried position, based on a five-day work week that includes one weekend day. We have an excellent benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick time, retirement plan and employee discount.
