The Weavers Way Co-op Food Justice Committee is holding its third annual summer food drive to benefit Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard, Holy Cross Food Pantry and St. Luke's Germantown Nutritional Ministries on May 31, June 1 and June 2.
We will be collecting donations at all three Weavers Way locations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will also be at Weavers Way's Henry Got Crops Farm Market at Saul High School, 7095 Henry Ave., during market hours, noon-7 p.m. on Friday, May 31.
The Food Justice Committee works to alleviate hunger and advocates for fair food-production and food-distribution systems. This group studies how food insecurity directly affects our neighborhoods and examines ways to promote equal access to whole, natural foods. The Food Justice Committee meets the first Wednesday of every month in Mt. Airy.
