Summer Food Drive
The Weavers Way Co-op Food Justice Committee is holding a summer food drive to benefit Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard and Holy Cross Food Pantry on July 7, 8 and 9.
We will be collecting donations at Weavers Way's Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill stores from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at our Ambler office space, 131 E. Butler Ave., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will also be at Weavers Way's Henry Got Crops Farm Market at Saul High School, 7095 Henry Ave., during market hours, noon-7 p.m. on Friday, July 7.
FOOD PANTRY WISH LIST: potatoes, onions, apples, cabbages; canned apple sauce, baked beans, tomatoes and tuna; condiments, tea, coffee, toilet paper, laundry soap, bath soap.
The Food Justice Committee works to alleviate hunger and advocates for fair food-production and food-distribution systems. This group studies how food insecurity directly affects our neighborhoods and examines ways to promote equal access to whole, natural foods. Interested in learning more?
